Oaxaca to the left of me Cancun on the right. Stuck in San Christobal without you!
I have left behind the colonial heartland of Mexico for its steamy south. My time in Guadalajara was great fun. I had a couple of good nights out firstly with Cesar and his friends having a nice night of blackjack. The next night with Angel, who made a trip from Mexico City just for the weekend (thanks!), Cesar and friends. The highlights of Guadalajara were: Lake Chapala for lunch, walking around the historic downtown area which I think is the best mix of historic and modern building I have seen so far in mexico and dinner at Tlaquepaque with some mariachis. But the best part of Guadalajara was easily the women. Angel has been telling me for at least 6 months that the most beautiful women in Mexico are there and to be honest statistically speaking he was spot on. The exceptions are all those beautiful women that I personally met in every city I visit *cough*.
So I left Guadalajara after only a few days but I hope to have a chance to come back in the near future if time and money permit. There is still a lot of the world to see. Now that I am in the south of Mexico the temperature is a bit cooler but a lot wetter too. My agenda now can be summed up as being: ruins, indigneous villages, ruins, beaches, ruins, drinking, drinking, beaches, Mexico City.
I think I can handle it.
