Out and about in UBC

Hello people, sorry I haven't written anything worthwhile and meaningful again but I never have before so why start now? I've been attending classes for another week and everything is travelling pretty smoothly largely because I have such a ridiculously light study load. Anyway enough of the bollocks here's some pictures!

We went out on Monday night (yes Monday night is apparently a viable social occaision here at UBC much to my immune system's dismay) to Koerner's pub and watched people performing for the Open Mic night. We decided to head over to the Gallery though and see what was going on there. When we left we were amazed to find out that there was a queue and a waiting list....on a monday night. This is Jorge, Sarah, Nick, Jenna and Aoife.

At the Gallery we found a lot of Scottish people but decided to stay anyway. That's Craig in the back getting smothered by some guy. Carla is talking to Nick.

Coen turned up and promptly purchased some beer for me. This was not a wise decision.

On Tuesday night a few of us went to Salsa lessons but I forgot to take photos because I was much too tired from thinking and hip swaying. Afterwards we met up with the Scots to plan a trip to Seattle. Carla, Jenna, Aoife and Colin were there. Jenna was stressed because she seemed to be organising it all. But that's ok because I was relaxed as anything. I'm not even wearing shoes at this point.

Marcel and Craig were also at the strategic planning session. They were also relaxed.

As were Nura (left) and Kirrie (right).

Jenna finally lets her hair down by taking a mind-bending photograph of a photograph. I think this is post-modern but it's probably just bullshit.

Craig a.k.a Queenie knows how to treat a woman right.

I'm afraid there isn't too much more to report. I went snowboarding again on Sunday and made some really good progress. I can do turns now but they aren't particularly good ones. I could probably make it all the way down a slope without falling if I really tried and didn't get too much speed up. The problem is partly that I don't mind going really fast but at least my crashes are all the more spectacular. Uni itself is going well. I only have out of class study for two of my subjects so I have plenty of time to go out and do things. I should probably slow down my social life but I probably won't.
